Every Guest Will Love This Fall-Inspired Cocktail
October 3, 2022
In crisp fall air, your first instinct might be to seek shelter indoors, but if anything can convince you to make the most of your outdoor space this season it’s Jenni’s most recent backyard gathering. Complete with fall foliage-inspired centerpieces, cozy textiles, and rustic yet elevated place settings—not to mention a festive, aromatic cocktail from the brilliant mind of Loria Stern—the entire scene was nothing short of picturesque. For a behind-the-scenes peek into exactly how Jenni curated such a feeling of warmth in the great outdoors—as well as Loria’s full fall cocktail and mocktail recipes—read on.

The Tabletop
For this fall tabletop, Jenni was focused on keeping it simple and serene. She brought her outdoor dining table to a picturesque spot on her front lawn and started to set the scene with the essentials: our Pacific Salad Plate in Taupe, checkered napkins in a seasonal shade of muted yellow, Bistro Vintage Finish Cutlery Set in Buffalo, Roli Poli Glasses, and a cozy Double Sheepskin to tie it all together.
She kept the place settings casual and festive by placing napkins atop each plate rather than adding in napkin rings or any sort of formal finish. While subdued, the interplay of textures and tones brought the tabletop a special flair, which is something we can all certainly recreate at home—call on touches of color, additions of effortless print, and the occasional introduction of greenery to curate a scene that’s equally unique and inviting.
"I like keeping my tabletop simple and bringing out seasonal touches with accented elements. For this gathering, I looked to my yard for inspiration and sought out an earthy moment with grasses."

The Details
Jenni was particularly inspired by her yard for this gathering and sought to bring elements from her surroundings to the table. She called on Kristen Cassie of Moon Canyon to bring an air of seasonality with foraged grasses and earthy tones. Kristen added bits of grass to each setting, which cultivated a relaxed yet intentional visual form that was hard to ignore.
For the fall cocktail and mocktail, we asked Loria Stern for a recipe that played into the colors of the season. Her Turmeric Tangerine Cocktail is as bright and lively as those first days of fall, which means we’ll be serving this all season long.

"The best gatherings are those than make the most of your surroundings."
