Inside Our Newport Beach Opening Party with Clare Vivier

Over the weekend we finally got to toast the opening of our new store in Newport Beach’s Lido Marina Village shopping center. It was a low-key, intimate gathering; just good friends, a few easy snacks, and delicious cocktails. We celebrated with Los Angeles handbag designer Clare Vivier, who also recently opened a store in the beautiful open-air complex. Clare and I collaborated on a special clutch for the event, and gave one to every guest. The rest was simple. Moon Canyon created lush, dusty-hued arrangements for the outdoor tables, we put down some pretty striped cloth coasters from Heather Taylor Home, and we brought in a few of our favorite small businesses for food and drinks.

Los Angeles-born vegan and organic restaurant Café Gratitude made margaritas and served chips and guacamole and coconut ceviche tostadas to start. The Guerilla Tacos truck, meanwhile, made delicious, farm-fresh tacos with chicken or Baja fish, sweet potato, mushroom, and tomatoes. For dessert, Van Leeuwen served their lovely artisanal ice cream and coffee. Sitting right on the water as the sun went down, it was the perfect casual, outdoor fête. XXJKE
