The Delicate Black Top, Two Ways
July 11, 2017

In my collection as well as my personal wardrobe, I always strive to find a balance between form and function. This summer, we designed delicate black tops to pair with the more rugged pieces in our camping-inspired collection and I think they strike this balance nicely. They are boxy, cropped, and easy to wear but elegant at the same time. One is done in weightless crepe and has little ties on the sleeves for a feminine finish, the other is comprised of two layers of georgette silk, the bottom of which has a delicate lace trim for more of an antiqued look.
Of course, you can dress these tops up with a nice trouser or skirt, but I prefer them with my favorite broken-in shorts and sandals and worn during the day for a mix of rugged and romantic sensibilities and a slightly unexpected alternative to the white or gray T-shirt. You see less black in California, especially during the summer months, so it really stands out this way. And because the tops are made from beautifully lightweight fabrics and cut in a breathable silhouette, they’ll still keep you cool just the same. XXJKE
