Cardamom Rose Cocktail Recipe

As I’ve mentioned before, Valentine’s Day is one of those occasions that we much prefer spending at home – whether it be surrounded by good friends, or enjoying a quiet dinner for two. Either way, a special cocktail is always a nice touch, and this rose-infused sip is perfection.

A recipe first credited to Pechaud’s, the Cardamom Rose Cocktail combines either gin or vodka, rose syrup (I use my favorite from Royal Rose) fresh lemon and grapefruit juices, several dashes of Pechaud’s Bitters, and cardamom. And the delicious result: a light, refreshing, floral concoction that feels like it was made for the amorous holiday. XXJKE

Cardamom Rose Cocktail Recipe

  • 1.5 oz 43 g vodka
  • .75 oz 21 g simple syrup rose (make at home with rose water and simple syrup or buy locally)
  • .25 oz 7 g lemon juice fresh
  • .75 oz 21 g grapefruit juice fresh, (ruby red preferably)
  • 2 dashes Peychauds bitters (Peychaud is credited with first creating the cocktail)
  • 1 Cardamom Pod

Lightly muddle 1 cardamom pod at the bottom of shaker (not too much muddling or it will overpower the drink)

Add the rest of the ingredients

Add ice

Shake for 20 seconds

Strain over fresh ice to remove the cardamom pod

Add a splash of seltzer water

Garnish with rose petals or fresh lemon wedge (use organic if possible)
